A Typical Week for Families
This information is regularly updated by the owners to give you an inside track on what to see and where to go around Villacana. It contains some things which happen on particular days, like markets or social golf, and others such as restuarants which can be any evening, though at peak periods you should book in advance, preferably before you catch the plane! You should check availability of all items with our agents, before you travel as some restaurants and other amenities are not open in off peak periods.
Don't worry if you can't do all of it. Some people, like us, don't do much on holiday at all. However this will enable you to pick and choose some of the things we have liked very much in the years we have been coming to Villacana.

To and from Estepona, stop off at Laguna Beach and have a look around at the opulence of the place and the hideous drinks prices. If you want to people watch and have a day of luxury, you might like this.
Take a trip to Estepona port. If you have small children, let them play in the childrens playground with loads of other kids, supervised by staff, whilst you enjoy a drink in one of the bars around the port. Enjoy a variety of resturants and go to Le Cazedor, enormous portions so either share or just order a starter. Let the kids throw bread to the grey mullet in the harbour.
TUE

Fancy a break from the beach and pools, put the kids in the car and get down to Aquapark in Torremolinas, get there early and enjoy a day of thrilling water rides - it's not Disney but its very good just the same.

Fancy an Chinese, Thai, Indian or other, ask in the office, there are loads of resonably priced resturants within a few minutes drive, or take a walk along the beach .
Take your family to 'Funny Beach' a 30 minute drive towards the airport. Go karting is suitable for all ages, they have junior and 'proper karts' for adults. They also have a variety of other things to do. Look them up on the web www.funnybeach.com or call on 952 823 359
Again, take a trip across the road to Cancellada, try out Le Carnicero, one of our favourites, or if you are on the beach or round the pool, take a stroll out on the beach and turn left to Pepe's, a five minute walk, literally on the beach serving the staples of kids and adult Spanish food at good prices
WED
If it's a dull day, then a good outing is to Selwo Adventure Park, you'll see many animals and birds in close to their normal habitat, and its close by.
By now you'll be wanting to see a genuine Tapas bar. Go into Gualdalmina a five minute drive and find La Cantina, it's on Trip Advisor, lovely family run bar/restuarant where they make their own tapas
Have an afternoon game of Bingo, or Risk, at the house.
If you have teenage children, go for the River Gorge adventure! This is near Benahavis. Scrambling over rocks and swimming down the river. Going down waterfalls on a rope - not for the fainthearted - look it up on Trip Advisor

Puerto Banus
take a cab or drive in and park. Stroll down 'Millionaires Row' where all the large yachts are, people watch and make sure you keep an eye on your wife and your money as expensive fashion shops abound. |

have a game of football on the beach out side Villacana or on the 'green' when security isn't watching!
Go for the Gorge walk. Just before Benahavis on the right is a bridge over the ravine. Park 500m below it in the car park and walk over the bridge. Follow the path for 5km and walk back up the road to the car
Fancy another resturant with no driving? Go east along the beach for a ten minute walk to Pepe's, great for adults and children. Good value and friendly service.

If the wind is up, you can go to the beach and swim against the waves or stroll up the beach east to the beach club (20 minute walk or five minute drive) to hire a Hobie Cat for an hour.
Go for the River Gorge Adventure again!
Fed up of going out - stay in and have a BBQ and go to one of the bars on site for a drink and overlook the children playing
